GREENORE
The historic railway village of Greenore on the southern shore of Carlingford Lough was built in the 1870’s and is an Architectural Conservation Area. The Haulbowline Lighthouse, a well known landmark, stands guard at the entrance to Carlingford Lough and Greenore Port. Visitors can experience panoramic views of the lough with a trip on the car and passenger ferry. At Greenore Co Op, which is open during the summer months, you will discover a Miniature Railway & Maritime Museum. Greenore Golf Club, one of Ireland’s oldest golf clubs, has traditional links and heathland terrain together with magnificent views of Slieve Foye, the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough.
